Chocolate and Fruit Cake Recipe

Ingredients: Makes one 18 cm / 7 in cake

100 g/4 oz butter or margarine, melted
100 g/4 oz soft brown sugar

225 g/8 oz/2 cups digestive biscuit (Graham cracker) crumbs

50 g/2 oz sultanas (golden raisins)
45 ml/3 tbsp cocoa (unsweetened chocolate) powder
1 egg, beaten
A few drops of vanilla essence (extract)

Method:

Mix the butter or margarine and sugar, then stir in the remaining ingredients and beat well. Spoon into a greased 18 cm/7 in sandwich tin (pan) and smooth the surface. Chill until set.
