100 g/4 oz plain (all-purpose) flour
2.5 ml/0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
A pinch of salt
100 g/4 oz chocolate chips
Method:
Cream together the butter or margarine
and sugars until light and fluffy, then gradually add the egg and
vanilla essence. Stir in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Stir
in the chocolate chips. Spoon into a greased and floured 25 cm/12 in
square baking tin (pan) and bake in a pre-heated oven at
190°C/375°F/gas mark 2 for 15 minutes until golden brown. Leave to
cool, then cut into squares.
